ALABAMA BON SECOUR WILDLIFE REFUGE Sun bathing and cruisy beach. Located on Highway 180 at Mile marker 12, 9 miles outside of Gulf Shores. Take dirt road to beach. (Gulf Shores) ALASKA ARIZONA ARKANSAS FLAT ROCK BEACH About 10 miles west of the outskirts of town. It is a mixed crowd. (Fayetteville) CALIFORNIA NORTH BAKER BEACH Walk north from the west end of Gibson Road, just off Bowley Street. The route to the beach is clearly marked. Head north along the beach past the high tide sign on the hill. (San Francisco) LAND'S END BEACH From the parking lot at the California Palace of the Legion of Honor, find the trail head opposite the Duane Hanson Holocaust Memorial Sculpture. Follow the golf fairway to the Land's End trail and head East and down until you reach the beach. (San Francisco) GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE BEACH (A.K.A. NASTY BOY BEACH) : Heading SW on Lincoln Boulevard through Presidio Park, take a right into the parking lot just after the Golden Gate Bridge entrance. From there follow one of the many trails heading towards the shore. Trails are not clearly marked. But since the beach is always in sight, you really can't get lost (San Francisco) BLACK SANDS BEACH (gay and straight) Cross the Golden Gate, take the Alexander Avenue Exit and bear left heading away from Sausalito. Go under the highway, and into the Marin Headlands on Conzelman Road. Keep bearing left along the cliffs past the point where the road becomes one way. You'll soon see a parking lot on the left with a chemical toilet and room for 20 cars. The trail is long but clearly marked. (San Francisco) MUIR BEACH Take Highway 1 north to milepost 5.7, just south of Muir Woods. Turn left on Pacific Way at the Pelican Inn and park in the lot at the road's end. When you get to the beach, turn right and walk north along the shore. Cross the stream and rocks to the nude section of the beach. (San Francisco) PIRATES COVE Take Highway 101 and exit Avila Beach/Port San Luis and travel west. Turn right at stop sign. Make A left going up steep road called Cave Landing Road across from golf course. The gay crowd is a downward path just beyond the parking lot. You arrive to a 20 foot rope to climb down to the beach (Avila Beach) HAGMIRE POND Drive past the turnoff for Bolinas on Highway 1. Pass Dogtown for about 3 to 5 miles. Look for a wooden fence with a sign reading 'No Parking - Fire Lane. Park across the road and walk through the fence and up the rail. Left on Main Street and all the way out of town make a right into the parking lot just before the Ventura River bridge. (Melbourne) PUBLIC BEACH Near Tucans Restaurant (Mexico Beach) LELY BAREFOOT BEACH Take I-75 or Highway 41 north to Bonita Springs and Bonita Beach Road. Go west on Bonita Beach Road. About 1/4 mile before you reach the beach, you'll see a large housing community, with a guard house, called Lely, on your left. If the guard asks, tell him you are going to Barefoot Beach. There are no signs for the beach. Go into the housing community and drive to the end of the road. You'll enter Barefoot Beach County Park. Go to the last parking lot. There you will find a mile of nature trails. There is cruising on the trails and on the beach. (Naples) OLD NAPLES BEACH From Highway 41 south, go to 5th Avenue South and head West to Gulfshore Blvd. Take a left heading south till you reach 18th Street. (Naples) SANTA ROSA ISLAND BEACH From Gulf Breeze on Highway 98, after 10 - 12 miles go to the toll bridge and look for the signs for the bridge on your right. Cross the toll bridge (toll is 50 cents). The road dead ends into the fishing pier. Go left until the road ends at the sand. The actual nude beach is about a two mile walk away from the road (Navarre) OLD NAPLES BEACH From Highway 41 south, go to 5th Avenue South and head West to Gulfshore Blvd. Take a left heading south till you reach 18th Street. (Naples) HAULOVER BEACH just north of Miami Beach in Sunny Isles. Very popular and gay friendly. (Sunny Isles) SECLUDED BEACH There is a secluded gay/bi/nudist friendly beach area between Destin and Ft. Walton Beach in the Florida Panhandle. The beach is located on the bayside of highway 98 about halfway to Ft. Walton from Destin, and belongs to the Air Force. They do not restrict access and few people have discovered this area. Just look for cars parked on the north side of the road and follow the trails to the water. GEORGIA HAWAII HONOKOHAU BEACH On Hwy. #19 between Kailua and the Kona airport. Take road to Honokohau Boat Harbor. First right and drive around the boat storage area to the north side. Follow trail that goes north and then to the left through the brush. At the ocean, walk up the beach to your right. The farthest end is the gayest. Nude sunbathing is allowed (unless authorities decide to enforce anti-nudity regulations). (Big Island) DONKEY BEACH North of Kapaa, watch for cars parked along Hwy. #56 midway between the 11 and 12 mile markers, then hike out to the beach. (Kauai) LYDGATE STATE PARK Off Hwy. #56, just south of the Wailua River, between Lihue and Kapaa. From the park, walk south along the beach. Turn right at the second paved road to the parking lot. Walk to the beach, turn right, and hike to Little Beach. The far end is the gayest. You have to walk past all of that way down the beach until you come near the river. That is where numerous nude bathers have been seen over the past ten or fifteen years. Surely, nude bathing is not legal in the bible belt, but it seems that eyes of the law are averted unless some holier than thou calls it in. You take your chances. The water is very treacherous and currents are extremely bad on the ends of the island. Looks are very deceptive and over the years many have drowned in those waters. So, sunbathing is fine but swimming, even wading around out there is very dangerous. Where the river and ocean meet is always a dangerous place. There's a large bridge that crosses the Rock River just where Rock River flows into the West River. Park in the parking area before the bridge on north bound side of the road. Cross Route 30 and walk up Williamsville Road. At the first drive that angles off toward the river, walk down the drive and to the end you will come to a path that goes along the river. Walk about a mile up the river, past the first hole and past the second hole to the third hole. (Brattleboro) MIDDLEBURY RIVER GORGE 1.5 miles up the gorge from the Route 125 concrete bridge. Rangers don't bother with nudists here --just lie on the rocks on the south side of the river. (Middlebury) HUNTINGTON GORGE Take I-89 to Richmond (exit 11). Take Route 2 East to the center of Richmond. At the light by the Cumberland Farms, turn right onto Bridge Street. At the Round Church the road turns right. Follow the road a couple miles over a mountain. Once you start heading downhill, you will come out of the woods and will see a mobile home on your left with a log cabin garage on its left and a dollhouse on its right. Turn left onto the dirt road just past this house. This road follows the Huntington River. Follow it a ways. When you get to the section with all the 'No Parking' signs you've reached the touristy part. Drive past it, and past the horse farm that follows. There's a pullout on the right. Park off the road (on weekends they tow if you are on the road). Follow the path down the hill, along the edge of the pasture, down the hill to the river, upstream. (Richmond) THE LEDGES Harriman Reservoir From town go east on Routes 9 and 100 and when the two split, follow Route 100 South. Turn right and follow signs for NEPCO picnic area. Park in the last parking lot and hike north along the lake for ten minutes or so. WEST VIRGINIA WISCONSIN WARNIMONT BEACH nude sun bathing Located across from Trinity Hospital, on Lake Michigan Park on Superior Street, (Cudahy) MAZO NUDE BEACH Turn right on County 'Y' in town, go four miles north, turn left on Laws Drive and left again on a gravel road to reach the beach. (Mazomanie) WYOMING OTHER AREAS JOMTIEN BEACH Pattaya, Thailand Coming from Pattaya to Jomtien, where Thappraya Road meets Jomtien Beach Road, look for the police station. Turn right and walk along the beach for about 500 meters until you see Tui's Place cafe/guesthouse on your right. You are now in the center of the beach at Jomtien. Each small section of beach is hosted; take a shaded deck chair, order food and drink and pay a modest fee when you leave. Massage is available on the beach too. Open daily from morning until before dusk. GAY PATONG BEACH Thailand Gay Patong Beach on Phuket Island in Thailand has a blossoming gay scene worth visiting all year round. MAURITIUS ISLAND North of the Island Pereybere Beach , a very attractive beach with that white sand and cafes nearby. Frequented by most gay Mauritian guys and a lot of tourists. Found after Grand Baie in the North. MAURITIUS ISLAND South East of the Island Flic en Flac Beach Public beach frequented mostly by Mauritian, very busy, restaurants and shops and also the Pasadena Allee where you can find all sorts of things from cafes to a supermarket not too far from the public beach.
