Washington is is often called Washington state
to distinguish it from Washington, D.C., the nation's capital and is the
northwesternmost state of the contiguous United States.
There are three national parks in Washington, several national forests,
many wilderness designated areas. There are many Indian reservations in
Washington. The largest include the Colville Indian Reservation, Spokane
Indian Reservation, Yakama Indian Reservation, and the Quinault
Indian Reservation. Many cities have traditional names created by
Native Americans such as Seattle, Puyallup and Walla Walla.
The nickname of Washington is the Evergreen State and it's capital is Olympia.
